You're thinking of Always-On DRM which not all products use. Yes, if they were to use that kind of DRM method, it will be a hindrance if the servers are down, but not all DRM is the same. DRM is technology to help combat piracy, the one thing you seem to endorse, despite being told it's not allowed here. Might want to do your homework on all forms of DRM and why they can (or cannot) be beneficial. We've all stated, DRM isn't the answer to everything nor should it always be used, but to say that no protection should be used because it'll be cracked anyway is not a real solution.I'm aware compilation isn't DRM. DRM is a server-side infrastructure that authenticates whether the product is genuine or not. In which case, if it fails then it prevents you from accessing it or restricting certain components of it.
Also, you seem to be really passionate about this topic, however I really think you should give it a rest for two reasons:
- You're starting to repeat yourself
- You've starting to contradict several things you've said in earlier posts in later posts
