Hi, I've been thinking of getting this version since it would be a lot easier to get the custom battle effects/moves, etc., but I'm not sure about a few things.

One thing I'm wondering is if I would be able to utilize the script that animates characters in a "golden sun way" in the following link into this version as well?

Does something happen to rpg maker xp if I download this one.  I mean would it stop working or something because this one acts as an updated version? Never had more than one of these.

Finally, is there a way to transfer maps, etc. to rpg maker mv from rpg maker xp?  I have quite a lot of content that would take me several years to redo completely...

MV is a completely new Engine, you will still be able to use XP or any other RPG Maker Software you have, MV would be separate from that. MV also runs on HTML5 and JavaScript, so unfortunately scripts for XP and VX/Ace will not work, as they are Ruby Scripts Designed for different engines that work in ruby, a similar reason VX scripts are incompatible with XP scripts, and vice versa. It's a whole new ballgame.

Oh I see. Thanks for the info. though I'm wondering about the map transferring from XP.  I've seen that it's possible with Ace apparently, but I haven't seen info. on rpg maker xp maps to MV.

You would really have to just have both programs open and do your best at recreating the map from there. There's really no one click method of doing that. If you havn't already, go to the main website and get the MV installer, you get something like a 14 day free trial on it. so you can fiddle with it and see if you want to get it now, or wait for a sale or something. I myself Enjoy the engine, and I was mainly using XP as well when MV came out. :D

RMMV
XP has a different tileset format compared to VX, VXA and MV (who use an identical structure). That's why a map transfer from Ace can be automated, but not from XP.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
How many parameters is 'too many'??
