What I do is that because the laptop I use is basically a desktop replacement (with the needed portability and laptop features), I get the battery off and use the laptop in AC, and 1 week or so later I charge the battery, then leave it at around 60%.

51%, quite surprising to me. I've left the laptop charged overnight one too many times so the battery drains pretty quickly. This is better than I was expecting.
