Like a small arrow above an event's head that can be set to show up via command or when the player is interacting with said event.
I've found some scripts, but they add indicators that always show up :frown:

Thanks in advance!

This is why they use facesets.

I'm not using any, they won't work because they use Comment Tags, which can't be disabled/enabled at will :(
But for that matter, I tried Galv's Action Indicators and Moghunter's Event Indicators.

Edit: Event Indicator might have an alternative for that, it can't show icons but it can show pictures. I'll try to see if that works for me.

You don't need a script, tbh. You can just use animations or those balloon\bubble icons to indicate which sprite\character is about to speak.

I thought about balloons but they disappear :(
I'm trying to make like Galv's Message Style, except that I just want the pointer sprite above the event, the text window is on it's default position.

I tried to find a way to make balloons loop, but I could only find a script for VX Ace (and even so, I think it loops all balloons).
You can loop balloons by using parallel process but that won't work well for dialogues.

Oh LOL! So it is. Sorry about that.

You could try a move route expansion plug-in and have it loop a balloon icon. You could also go the simple option of making sprites with whatever icon you want above their heads, then just switch to those sprites when you want to show it's talking.

Sorry for not being more helpful. :)

If the indicator is a static image, you can also set two variables to the Screen X and Screen Y values of the event, maybe do some adjustments, and then use the Show Picture command to show the indicator at that position.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
