How to add % chance of success/failure in events

Hey guys,


I wanted to know if it was possible to have a chance of success/failure during events (think d&d dice rolls as %).


Example, if I allowed the player to approach a man in the bar. You talk to him and get the option, "walk away" "punch in face" "steal wallet" etc.


If player chooses "Steal Wallet" i wanted to make it a chance to succeed, or a chance to be caught and have a scene where the guards are alerted.


I can do all of this minus the success/failure odds. Can't seem to figure that out.

Basically, use control variable to get a random number and then conditional branch to check for success or not.


For example random (1-100) and success if the variable is <70 after that.


I suggest you follow the link to the starting point in my signature and work through the tutorials there, because this is basic eventing (you might especially be interested in the variables guide I linked there).

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
