How to autosave?

Hi there O/


I've got a little question again^^


Which scriptcall can I use to save the game in a specific data automatically?


For example, the players walks a path, passes a certain event and this event saves the game in the background, the moment when the player stepped on it, and the player doesn't have to confirm anything.


Does somebody know how to do this?

You need a script to do that.. Search for autosave in the forums and you will probably see some of those


Or you can get my Quick Save/Load script then call this line of code using the script event command to force a quick save

I dont want to let the player control where to save, just when triggered by an event.

@Matt Mats then you don't need any script - that is basic eventing.


There is an event command to disable the save access - use that in an autorun on the first map to switch off saving, then in every event where you want the player to save, open the save screen by event command (there is another event command for exactly that.


Search the forum for "save crystal" or something similiar - there should be tutorials for that around.

no the player shouldnt control anything, it should save in the background, with just a little notification on the side that the game was auto saved.

You can try setting the key bindings to nil or a nonexistent symbol in my script so that no player input will trigger the quick save.. Anyway, there are lots of autosave scripts out there, I just linked mine as a choice.

I  got a problem with Yanfly Safe Engine which Im using along.


It says:


line 616: NoMethodError occurred.


undefined method `height' for nil:NilClass


Can you help me with that?


Or do you know a script that allows the player to delete save files?

What are you doing when it happened? Do you have my script in that project too? Also please link to the script and also, open your script editor after that error is shown and take a screenshot of the script editor so that we can see what those lines are (just in case there are some differences between the lines in the original yanfly script and the one in your project)

I suggest you follow the link "how to use a script" in my signature - it also includes bughunting tips for scripts.


It would be especially helpfull to see the backtracer output of your error messages as it looks like several scripts are involved, and in that case we need a list of every script in that error message /which is what the backtracer gives you)
