How to change the position of a battler when using MogHunter's Battle HUD EX?

Hi Everyone!

I apologise if this post is in the wrong spot! I looked around and this seemed to be the best place to put this query!

I was wondering if anyone knew how to edit the position of the Battler images/sprites when using MogHunter's/Atelier-rgss3 script 'Battle HUD EX'. Editing the location through the 'troops' tab in the database doesn't seem to work, so I was wondering if anyone knew where to look in the code to change them?

Sorry if this is a really noobish question, I haven't touched RGM in a long time and everything is crazily rusty at the moment!

Thanks in advance for any help anyone can give! :D

Best wishes

Very close. You need script support as you wish for help in working with a script. RGSS3 scripts is for released scripts that you made.

I've moved this thread to RGSSx Script Support. Please be sure to post your threads in the correct forum next time. Thank you.

@RealityMarble: No worries. I think everyone makes that mistake at least once when starting out. Now hopefully someone comes along that knows how to make it work with that script (I'm afraid I don't, as I don't work with MogHunter Scripts).

Okay, so I did some fiddling with the script, and my parameteres, and it turns out the issue isn't with the script, or my lack lack of working it, but rather the engine itself doesn't seem to allow battler sprites below the location of of the window/HUD of the default battle system. Because I'm using MogHunter's HUD, which changes the visuals entirely, it just looks like the battlers are floating in midair.

Does anyone know if there is a way to bypass the restriction on location of battlers so they could go below where the HUD/menu would traditionally be?

Sorry these posts are a bit all over the shop!

You could try it with this script: http://pastebin.com/bCCQyByC

With that, you can set the position of the battlers in the script itself, rather than in the database editor.

Note that the database positioning will be disabled completely if you use the linked script!

Also, the script overwrites an important method, so place it somewhere at the top of your custom script list.

And check the install notes to see some other important details about the script's positioning in your project.

@Sixth Oh that looks perfect! I'll see how it works but that seems like it is the perfect fix! Thank you so much!

Edit: Oh my goodness that's brilliant!! It works perfectly! I can't thank you enough! :D

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
How many parameters is 'too many'??
Yay, now back in action Happy Christmas time, coming back!

Back in action to develop the indie game that has been long overdue... Final Fallacy. A game that keeps on giving! The development never ends as the developer thinks to be the smart cookie by coming back and beginning by saying... "Oh bother, this indie game has been long overdue..." How could one resist such? No-one c
