How to change the way equipment is ordered

I hope it's not a dumbass question since I didn't find a solution by googling.


Is there a way to decide how the in-game equipment will be ordered? In my game the alphabetical order would be essential and I saw other RPG Maker games using this type of ordering - although they were based on VX/Ace.


Please help.

I am not sure if i understand you, Did you mean equipment in item list or in the equip list?!!

I'm focused on "Item list". The basic inventory. Key items and stuff.

Well, the items are showed in the items menu in the extact same order they are sorted in your database. My suggestion would be planning out all your items. And them ordening them manually in your project's database.

You could use plugin to sort. It won't do it automatically or anything but you can define the sort order of each item regardless of what number it is in the database

The way that Blue Symphony has described almost put me in a coma stance, since it would be really annoying to sort this equipment when I have a lot of scripts depending on items' IDs.
