How to change what keys on keyboard does. Possible?

Hey! I already posted this before but I then remembered that you had to tag the engine you were using... Yeah... Bad memory... 
Anyhow, to get to the problem, or, well, question. I would like to change one of the control key's to do something else than what they originally do. I know how to access it, press F1 when you playtest the game and all that. But I was wondering if it was possible to add like a special action as in a move route instead of just action/ walk up/ walk down etc. To be specific I want to be able to light up the screen as it is originally in total darkness and let the player be able to see for about a second or two. I want to tie this action to the spacebar. Anyone know if this works? It's not a big deal if it's not possible and if I will have to go into the script and change it one detail after another for an hour straight that's okay too. I have a lot of free time on my hands that I'm ready to waste on these kinds of things.

You could just use a parallel process event that has a Conditional Branch checking if the key has been pressed.


Or you could use a Show Text command, with a clear background, and no text. That will force the player to not be able to do anything (and stop other commands being processed) until the player presses the space or enter key. If you also place it at the bottom of the screen, the little "waiting" icon will be difficult to see too.

Though not all keys can be used by default in Ace, in which case you need to use a keyboard input script first

Yeah, I would have said that, but the OP said the action should be tied to the space bar, which is already catered for. I also thought, reading the thread title, that it would be a keyboard script thing until I saw how simple the request really was.

so hopefully tomorrow i get to go home from the hospital i've been here for 5 days already and it's driving me mad. I miss my family like crazy but at least I get to use my own toiletries and my own clothes. My mom is coming to visit soon i can't wait to see her cause i miss her the most. :kaojoy:

Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
