Hi everyone,

I'm trying, as much as can, to find an answer to my question, but can't seem to find it anywhere, so here I go!

I'm trying to create an item that can teleport my party to a set location, then, by using a specific event on this set location, return them to the EXACT place (same X and Y coordinates, same map) they were before using it. You know, kind of like a Town Portal in the DIABLO series...

Is there any possible way to make that happen?

Any help would be welcome!

Oh, and I'm using RPGmaker VX Ace...

Thanks!

Here's a quick and dirty mini tutorial for doing this. I think the images should explain it clear enough; if not, give a reply and I'll explain them in more detail :)

I was going to come here to post something similar, but you beat me to it. Pretty much the exact same workflow.

What I did for mine was make it a Key Item, Don't Consume. In the Common Event, I added a Show Choice to ask if the player really wanted to return, in the event that it was mis-selected.

Thanks for the idea though! I learned a bit looking up how to make it all work.

You could also use XS - Teleport Version 1.0a http://forums.rpgmakerweb.com/index.php?/topic/4711-xs-teleport/?hl=teleport. Then all you have to do after setting up

the map ID info in the script, is have an item that calls the teleport scene. In this case SceneManager.call(Scene_Teleport)

I know I would use this. Just head over and check it out. If you do use it, one idea you could use is when your hero gets to a new town they could

either talk with an innkeeper or priest/nun in a church ( or something I have used, inspecting the Maidens Statue in the center of town) and that calls

the function of adding a new portal to the system.

Wow, Galenmereth (and the others)!!

Thanks for the quick help!

I can't try it now, because I'm at work, but I'll do it as soon as I get home tonight.

If there is any problem... I'll let you know!

A big thanks for the tips!

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.

Back in action to develop the indie game that has been long overdue... Final Fallacy. A game that keeps on giving! The development never ends as the developer thinks to be the smart cookie by coming back and beginning by saying... "Oh bother, this indie game has been long overdue..." How could one resist such?
