I realize that a few people are just starting off in the world of game audio and may need some tips on how to write certain themes. If you would like to see the process I go through when creating an RPG Battle Theme please check out the link below. :)

Wow another nice tutorial, I still want to know what plugin you used for your work, sometimes I get very frustrated to decide what instrument I should pick, thanks

Hi again, I.ve just check my plugins in FL and you're right, most of it I found in edirol orchestral, the bellstring if I'm not wrong it's in the plucked section of nexus, and  not to mention Zebra because my Zebra is somehow did not work, however I still can't find that Trance in breakout 1:(,  that instrument is really good at changing the atmosphere..

Listening to your bass makes me remember someone..  Did you know Sakuraba Motoi ? I think his bass is like yours, I've played Valkyrie Profile 1 whom Sakuraba Motoi is the composer, and his song has bassline which is like your type, the bass is the power house..

You're the man buddy, great song and nice tutorial :)

I hope you're continue making tutorial about game audio, this is really helpful..

I am so glad I was able to be of some help! I absolutely love Sakuraba! I feel like My favorite composers all live in japan. Nobuo Uematsu, Motoi Sakuraba, Koji Kondo,Yuzo Koshiro,Yoko Shimomura  etc etc. There are a lot of American Composers I like as well but nothing comes close to them I believe  :) . Uematsu and Sakuraba are actually my biggest inspirations for getting into game music actually. I love Uematsu's catchy melodies and harmonies, but I love Sakuraba's basslines and  energy. Again Thank you for your kindness I love to help!

Best tutorial (on anything) that I've ever seen. Not because it's all super well explained (and it is) but because you make it entertaining to watch and pay attention. Cool! You should make more. Suscribed.

Amazing!!

I agree with kiedisticelixer about the video!

I don't know much about music, so it's enjoyable to understand how it works.

Also, the music REALLY cool!

Know of any good alternatives (preferably Open Source or less than $70) to FL Studio? Tried using Reaper and Audacity but getting it to work well for this kind of work is a pain. Would just pick up FL studio but money is tight, and gonna be until I am done with my degree.

Hi, how about Anvil Studio? It's demo version is quite good and have several nice default instrument(sometimes I want it to be in my FL Studio instrument). However Anvil Studio mostly used to make a midi not mp3, but like I said it's still good.. To be honest I love midi because the size is small, but of course if you prefer quality over anything, than FL would be your choice.. But again midi is enough for RPG Maker I think(at least in my opinion)

The bad thing about FL Studio Demo is you can never save your work.. I don't know about Cubase or the others, I own Cubase but I swear it's twice hard to understand the interface than FL Studio, so I ended up not used it at all..

My advice, try Anvil Studio first, eventhough it's only demo you can save your project..  If you don't like it, then just stop using it =)

P.S : I don't know about Reaper so I don't know how to compare it with Anvil Studio..

Also you should look into linux multimedia studio or LMMS as I have heard good things. And Bolu is right! I actually used anvil studio before I  bought FL Studio. Anvil studio was basically a gateway drug for me because I wanted higher quality in my tracks, but I learned a lot  by using it.

Thanks, yeah been looking into LMMS myself. I don't mind the built in stuff much. Still gotta work on some pieces though, mostly going for more of an ambient style approach to my in-game pieces.
