How to design new NPCs?

Hi everyone,

I recently started using rpg maker MV and I'd like to create my own NPC. For example, I'd like to make a black man/woman villager but I don't know how. Is there a tutorial for that or someone who can explain me?

you want to know how to draw a picture?
That depends on how much experience you have as an artist, and there are hundreds of websites with artist tutorials - this forum focuses more on game making than on drawing.

I use the character generator for that. I add many ressources first and once I satisfied with I start to create my NPC but with a schema.

• I create only 2 sets, one men and one women
• One set is compose by: 2 children, 4 adults and 2 old people
• The NPC are similar but different, like for a rich city, every women have tendrill hair but not the same color
• The NPC have some characteristic own to their location ( clothes, accessories)

With that I have NPC quite unique for each location but not too many either
I don't know if that can help you but I hope it does ^^

When you talk about the character generator, you talk about the one included in RPG maker? Because I can create characters but I don't know how to use them as NPCs

Have you tried? Which part of the process did you not understand? Were you able to to select the items you wanted, but didn't know how to save them? Without some indication of what the exact problem is, we can only guess what went wrong, and might end up giving advice you don't want/need - which is a waste of your time and that of the person who took the trouble to reply.

And, by the way, I asked you to edit your existing post, not make a new post.

I know how to make new characters, but I don't know how to use them when I want to make an NPC

you save the picture after you're finished (not the json configuration, you need to save the picture) and then you use it as a sprite (you might have to copy it to your project if you saved it in the wrong location).

Where is the problem with that?
By the way you can get a description of every feature in the Help system of the editor, just press F1.
