I'm trying to add an equipment system similar to that of FFTA. Basically you have 5 neutral equipment slots in which you can equip weapons, armor, shields, accessory, etc in any slot you like, but you can't equip more than one weapon or armor at once. I've managed to get the slots, but you can still equip 5 shields at once for example.
What's the point? Let's suppose there's the 'Magician's Gloves' that doubles your max MP and the 'Power Fists' that increases your physical attack proportionally to your max MP. Using both together would be either over powered or necessary for decent damage output. I want the warrior to be able to choose between having lots of MP to cast the spells he learned as a wizard, to get the raw damage he lost while leveling up as a wizard or to just do something else with that slot.
Another reason is so that you can replace an important piece of equipment like a weapon for another, like an extra ring, which wouldn't have a limit to how many you wear at once.
Tldr; It would be ideal if there was a way to disable specific traits depending on equipment or to seal equipment types instead of slots.
