Correction: it's illegal to do almost anywhere.

Not really.
That law makes it legal in Russia to pirate software due to inability to procure a license. Ripped assets are not software, and there is no license that could be procured to use them. Not applicable to this conversation.

The other portion mentioned proposed making it legal (I have no idea whether it passed) to violate intellectual property by reverse engineering a design or product. Again, ripping assets is not that.

You're referring to just Item 6.7.3. Item 6.7.1 is much broader.
It is applicable to this conversation since you've used the term "anywhere" in your earlier post.

Again. Item 6.7.1 is much broader than merely software. It remains to be seen how Russia defines asset ripping. But if you're interested in discussing the finer points of Russian law vis-a-vis Western law go ahead.

But since you've decided to go with minutiae to justify going with the all encompassing word "anywhere" in your earlier post here's another one.
That has the link to the actual document and it has passed already.

If you're willing to justify why that is also not relevant to this conversation I'm also willing to justify why you shouldn't have used the all-encompassing term "anywhere" in your earlier post.

As much as I’m holding on to some shred of hope that Moltres would maybe speak to some of the items brought up in this thread…it’s

Heh, heh. I've been experimenting with a naughty word detector Common Event and using scripts to check certain strings. I never thought I would see such language in computer code. I would post a screen shot, but it probably wouldn't be appropriate, even with a Spoiler. But it certainly makes me laugh and it works great.
