As above, im having trouble trying to figure out how to make NPCs react accordingly to if you have certain 'quests' or not.

Basically what im asking is if you accept a said 'quest' can you have them detect it (Instead of turning the switch On/Off or toggling ON/Off) so it responds accordingly.

Or should I use variables instead?

I'm not sure why you wouldn't want to use switches here. If all you need is for them to react differently depending on whether or not a certain quest is active then a switch is perfect. However, if you want them to act differently depending on which stage of a certain quest you're on (if you have a multi-part quest) then variables would be better.

You can make a event where it checks switches using conditional branches if Switch 1 is ON then this.. IF off then this etc? Variables would be a good solution also. NPC talks to old man, accepts Quest this then enables a switch by doing so, then you can just use conditional branches to detect if ON or OFF on your quest events etc it works fine.

Also you can set preconditions on the left side of event pages.

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
time for a new avatar :)
