Hello everyone.

First off I want to apologize if this post is in the wrong section!

I am very new to this whole field and it is my first time making a game. What I am currently trying to do is make a skill that
increase a variable's value every time the skill is used. After a certain value is reached, the variable will grant the character
that used the original skill with a new skill. I believe this may be achievable in the formula section of the skill. Problem is
I don't know how to formulate it correctly.

A different example of what I am going for: Harold uses the skill called Fire Ball in battle. Each time Fire Ball is used a
variable goes up a certain value. After the desired value is reached, the variable will unlock a new skill for Harold to
use, like Fire Storm or something.

Any help would be appreciated - Joey

Make the skill call a common event? Can be done via the skill tab.

I don't want to discourage you from using javascript in the damage formula box to do this, but it's probably simpler to achieve this with a common event.

Set up a common event which increases the variable associated with the skill. Each time the skill is used have the common event trigger (under effects tab 4). You can also include a conditional in the common event that checks for when the variable reaches a certain amount and grants the skill.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
