That’s great, I’m still getting the black screen issue even now. Is there just some basic sample project, or can you share the project you made in the video. I don’t think that goes against any license issues since the plugin is free and I legally own MZ (and MV)

Add HideOnLevel and Level on a layer or a folder.

Nope, didn’t work. I know I’ve said this before but I’m near giving up without a sample project. I don’t even know where the collision.js is, I looked n the MV sample project but can’t see it. Actually I’ve never known where it was located.

There is no collision.js. Did you read the PDF in the MV version?

Also, if you follow each step exactly in the tutorial on a new project, you shouldn't have a problem getting past the black screen issue.

***EDIT Also, I can't give you the project in the tutorial it uses DLC and I have absolutely no time to make a demo right now. I may in the future though.

20 x 16 at 24 x 24 is only 480 x 384. You need to make your maps bigger. At least 34 x 26 at minimum.
D'oh! I completely forgot about that. I knew it was something obvious. lol Thank you! :rock-right::rock-right:

@Emanzi NO! Don't give up! I'm working on making a sample project for you.

@Emanzi I did up a quick sample project. Hopefully it'll help!


Edit: I updated the zip to add a credits page and I decided to remove the tiled plugin. I wasn't sure if I was allowed to include it. So remember to install the tiled plugin. :3

@Archeia i think that’s what is meant when talking about the collision.js

it would be a lot easier if the relevant content was zipped and hosted on itch.io like the MV version maps folder and the PDF just for those like me that were unaware that content is still needed and useful in the MZ version.

It is in itch.io. If you download the MV version there is also a PDF. It's the same function as MZ version except now you can use the latest one and group them in folders.

What are the benefits of using TileD Map Editor as opposed to, say, Parallax Mapping in photoshop?

They are DLC from the Decica Shop called First Seed Material or FSM.

Hmm, this looks interesting. Maybe I'll play with this.

I use Tiled + SuperTiled2Unity for my tile maps in Unity...

Buuut, I have been meaning to check out the newer RMs. Especially since Javascript came around.

In MZ, can one use 32x32 sizing or are we forced to 48x48?

You set your own grid size with Tiled. I'm using 24x24. You'll have to adjust a few things if you want to use the 48x48 assets with a different grid size though.

Is there gonna be any more tutorials for MZ and Tiled, I was photoshop before and parralax plugin this is much nicer but a bit confusing at same time...

To be honest, probably not from me. I've realized that I'm not a fan of the workflow with the modified way of eventing things and while I still use Tiled, I do it via parallax mapping instead.

Well a tutorial to use it for parallax mapping would be nice as well... As I am having tons of issues about to go back to parrallax just I kind like Tiled better then photoshop now. Also it doesn't save in any image format that i can see kind of curious how you use it for parrallax mapping.

Okay, I feel like an dum dum, but I've been trying all day, and I can't find any proper info about how to use TileD with MZ other than your tutorial.

How do I make collisions happen? I just cannot make it happen.
There are a lot more things I'm trying to figure out, but there just isn't enough info, despite TileD being so good.

I tried making a layer with the property "collision" a string "full", but I just get TypeError: Cannot read property 'split' of undefined...

I'm not sure if I' remembering correctly off the top of my head, but try adding the property full to the collision tile? I think you need to add it there instead of the layer.

I tried that and it didn't seem to do anything. No errors, but no collision either.
It's a little confusing. Is there a guide I'm missing? The instructions for mv don't seem to work as far as I can tell.

What zIndex is the collision layer supposed to be on? If that affects anything

Playing FF4 for the first time, the pacing is pretty insane o_O Only 2.5 hours in and already changing class? I barely got to play as the first one xD
One year and two days ago, I got RMMV. So far I have:

» Gotten Ideas™ from VXA’s music.
» Made a test project to teach myself the basics.
» Successfully done up a no-combat outline for Ideas™.
» Entered the Boss Battle Build Bout.
» Burned out for over seven months after trying the One Map Challenge.
» Found my groove again about a month ago.

And it feels good to be back on track again.
