How to keep events in final place after "set move route"?

My beginning scene involves the end of class, and a bunch of character sprites get up and move around the room to talk with friends. However, when my character leaves the map and comes back, the sprites are back in their original place, facing the way they would assuming they had moved.

I tried doing "Set Event Location" to their final position in their Self Switch A page, but that didn't work.


I can add an actual switch to the map exits so that when I leave & come back, the original event sprites are no longer there, and they're in their new spot, but if there's a simpler way (a setting I've missed - I'm still new to RPG Maker), I'd love to know.

If you want the NPC to stay in the same spot when you leave and come back then on the last page of events add, Set event location: This event. (x,y) and set it to parallel process, set your graphic to w/e direction you want the character to be facing.

edit: i ment to ask, are you using the set move rout in the "autonomous movement" section or the actual set move route event?

yes, please clarify whether the events are in random locations (because they are moving around in separately) or whether they end in known locations at the end.


you can move all of the events via a single, separate event based on a switch, but it is hard to know what will work for your application with this much info.


And if you would like more info on switches, I suggest Aindra's Switches tutorial, linked in my signature.

My Remember Event Position script will handle this for you. You've just got to add a call to save the position at the end of the move route (or when you exit the room if the move routes are random)

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
