How to limit maximum letters for a character name

When i was making sure i had no text errors in my dialogue i was thinking of the problem that having a character name longer than 8 letters could run the text off the page,


if anyone knows how to fix this it would be highly appreciated

Unfortunately I see no way to bypass that problem except warning the player beforehand that if you put more than 8 letters it's gonna go wrong.

The best "fix" would probably just be to alter the line breaks to account for character names being potentially up to 12 characters long.


My suggestion would be to test the length by writing something like, say, Robin1234567 as the character name, make sure that fits, then come back and replace Robin1234567 with the \n[#] control code.
