How to limit party to 3 characters during battle

Hello.  I recently started work on a game in RPGmakerMV and I'm having trouble with the battle system. I'm trying to limit the number of usable  characters to 3 in battle with 5 total characters in the party. There doesn't seem to be an option to limit the battle party in the SYSTEM menu. Is there an event command to say that only 3 party members can be in the battle without me choosing the party members for the player.

You don't have something like that by default, you will need to have a plugin.

You can modify the script to only show 3 members in battle, but if you just change the '4' to '3' it will also mean only 3 are shown on the map if you have followers turned on. If that's okay, or you don't show followers, go for it. Do a search in the rpg_objects.js file for Game_Party.prototype.max_party - you're looking for a line that says return 4 - change it to 3.


If you want to have 4 or 5 showing on the map, but only 3 in battles, you'll need a plugin. I think Nio Kasgami wrote one and it's in the JS Plugin Releases forum.
