How to make a character hop in place during a cutscene?

I'm trying to make a character in a cutscene do a little hop in place. I've attempted using a Movement Route, but the event seems to only be able to move a full tile at a minimum. I'm wanting just a small hop... I'm using default sprites of 48x48, so like maybe 10 pixels up and then back down, to indicate they are agitated.

I've tried searching for "hop" on the forums, but it says that's an invalid search term... and "jump" turns up lots of posts about other things. Can someone suggest how to do this? I know I could probably create an animation... or even maybe a sprite where the "stepping" animation is a hop. But I am planning on having different characters hop on a regular basis, to indicate who is speaking during cutscenes... so I would rather avoid all that image editing if there is a way to do it through commands.

You should be able to use the jump command in a move route with the x and y offsets both set to zero, and the sprite will hop in place.

Whaaaaat...? I would have never guessed that. I tried entering decimals in that field even, and it wouldn't accept anything but whole numbers. Do I have to fix direction to prevent them from turning too?

I don't think decimals would work for the offsets since they are talking about the number of tiles moved. Just jumping in place shouldn't turn the sprite.
