How to make a monster chase you when its clearly off the screen

Hi, everybody!


I have the following problem...


I have set a monster to chase me, but when its clearly off screen (away from the camera) it simply seems to stop. (about 7 'blocks') The monster is set to 'through' so it can't get caught by objects.

search the master script list for so-called anti-lag-scripts.


Stopping event movement off-screen is part of the anti-lag functions of the engine, but those inbuilt are rather simple.


You still need such functions to reduce lag (otherwise your game would lag like hell on larger maps with many events, more than it already does anyway), but the more advanced anti-lag-scripts allow you to designate events to always execute, and that will allow your monster to move off-screen.


Just don't make too many of them...

I've read some of your tutorials... but scripts look REALLY confusing and hard.... ( -my opinion, not a fact) From what I have seen & it seems like if I use a script I am sure to mess it up, (Murphy's law) But... I thought about it and found away around my problem. Set a new event as Parallel processing, then tell it to move the monster towards the player, don't wait for completion and repeat.


To conclude: probably not the best result... but certainty good enough for me.
