Hey. This new change to the forum website is so confusing, but I finally found out how to post a new problem I have online. Below is the problem.

I have a new dungeon in progress, just because I made a melody for it. The maps have gone well so far, until I encounter something I cannot figure out. There is a weapon found in this place before the next part of the dungeon can be explored, but I do not know how to make a path appear and disappear with eventing. The weapon must be able to form an ice path over a crevice to reach other locations that were recently unexplorable without the weapon on hand. How exactly can I implement this with the use of eventing?

And I have no possible screenshots to show you what I mean, because I have no idea how it will be done right now.

Try playing around events using tilebased graphics and multiple pages.

The simplest way would be to set events where the path of the ice needs to be. Have the first page blank and the second page conditioned by a switch. The second page would contain the ice graphic.

There may be a better way to cut down on lag if you are going to need a lot of these events.

Well. One way did work when I was trying all different things, but now I've forgotten what I did. And I think the way to reduce lag is to call up a Common Event. I've tried like eight different ways using this, and all the time the event only played the sound I am using. I'll try again using your advice mlogan, then get back to you if it works. And Zeriab, I never got your idea done right when I tried the multiple event pages but thanks anyway.

the simplest way would be a single page event conditioned to a switch (or to the item if it is enough to own it) using a bridge-like graphic over water tiles. Nothing else is really needed, not even content or trigger for the events.

Cheers Andar and mlogan. The path appears when the action button is pressed. I have no idea how I've done it, but there is also a time limit without being shown on screen. Of course, the Common Event has this time limit on it with 240 frames. I wonder if this is the cause for the time limit even though I have not called it up. Will check after closing and reopening the software, to see if it changes then.
One last thing.
What do I do to make only one line of tiles appear at any one time? This is so that the player must solve the puzzle safely without losing health.
If I can only ask this second question in another post, then this thread can be closed. Thanks again guys.

Okay. Separate switches. That will be very annoying as there will be many places to implement this ice path for a players convenience, per say if they decide to go across a ditch in a different location for pure choice. Cheers mlogan. I'll try that out unless there is another way.

I've just read up on a tutorial for variables and puzzles, made one myself and playtested it. Now it's time I made a mini ice puzzle for the actual game to see if I can get the variables to work on each path separately.

Nope. Can't get my variables to work.

Well. I'll ask my 'variables' question in another thread, so this thread can now be closed. Thanks.

@mikey1393drago if you want a topic closed, please report it next time.

Also, remember to include screenshots of the full event pages when asking those variable questions - it is often the tiny detail that counts in such cases.
