I want my intro scene to slowly fade in from black instead of just instantly appearing when you start a new game. How can I do this?

Start the map with a black Screen tone. My idea if you use the standard Titlescreen (Scene_Title basic):

create an empty player - means, no character graphic. Set this player as the start-player of the game (Game Database -> System)
Don´t let the player start on a map with tiles, create an empty map with minimum size and fill it up with transparent tiles - and don´t use a Panorama here.

In this map, set the player´s start position.

create an event, set it to autorun. Change the screentone (set time to 0) via event to completely black, or as an alternative use a screen filling black picture.

now transfer to your first mapped..map..
here fade the screen in by changing the screentone back to normal 8with a frametime set), or move the alternative pictures transaprency to invisible over time.

That´s it :)

I say:

Database > System > Options > Transparent ON (Sets the character invisible)

start in a black map, or a map only with transparent tiles

set an event on autorun on this map:

   fadeout screen

tint screen black (-255,-255,-255,0) 1 frame, wait for completion

   fadein screen

set a transfer to your original map

set an event on autorun in your original start map too:

   change transparency off

tint screen (quick button normal) time till normal game begins, wait for completion

   erase event

I think this will do.. if that's what you mean

Thanks! I've been trying many things and this is the only one that worked!

Feeling like my new profile picture is nice. Thinking of making it semi-permanent, does any one has an opinion? Does it look too evil or does it work as a public profile picture? :)

My washing machine is a supernatural being. I lost a piece of clothing in there a month ago; searched up and down, inside other clothes, nothing. It just vanished.
Today, put in a new load. When I pull it out, the missing clothing is back! And a sock was sacrificed in the process :yswt2:
