I want to make it so when my character dies he goes to an afterlife area, but I have not found a way to make it works with random battles, is there any way to do this?

@Howdy I don't use VX Ace, but I'd assume you'd do it through troop events, since random encounters require an entry in the Troop database like bosses do.

You need a script to prevent gameover when the player loses a battle or you can event it by making the last character in party immortal via troop events and then exit battle, transfer player to the afterlife area, remove the invulnerability state and restore (if you want) other actors' health.

I'd recommend using a script for that purpose because in my opinion it is much better. Anyway the other way around works provided you make the right calculations to check if one hit would reallu kill the last actor or not (calculate damage with resistance rate AND eventual guard/damage reduction states). Keep in mind that it loses if its HP would reach 0 and not 1. You leave them at 1 just to be able to transfer it and prevent game over.

I think I can make you small snippet, but need to know if that afterlife area is always going to be the same place.
Also, do you want your party fully healed, or only revived with 1 hp?

If a script was made for this, (I may be interested, but not for my current project) I see it working with different areas. I also think it would be awesome if the party was removed and a 'ghost' character was used where the recovery would be whatever you wanted to do in order to revive the players. A variable would need to be used since a party could have 1-??? members. in order for it to be compatible with yanfly party manager it would need to add the ghost first then remove the other characters. At least I found that in my project if you add a character then remove the first, you will have a character in slot 1 not 0.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
