how to make an end of demo stop happening for next demo?

    hello! i've recently finished the intro for my game, and i'm looking to let the player save at the end of the intro and then in the next version of the demo start them out in the next area.


    i can't give pictures right now (if anyone needs them, i can give them on saturday) but what i'm doing is:


    do you want to save? (yes/no)


    >if yes


    >>open save screen


    >>go back to title


    >if no


    >>go back to title


    ive tried saving the game, quitting, and editing the event so it doesnt go back to the title, but my save still goes back to the title :/ is there any way to make it so it transfers the player to the new map upon load, or is my ideal demo save not possible :p

    Perhaps using something like this in an autorun event can work (you will need two events: one on the exit map and one on a blank map):


    Exit Map


    Fadeout Screen


    Change Player Transparency ON


    Transfer the Player to the blank map


    Blank Map (Autorun)


    Fadein Screen


    Give the option to save the game.


    Fadeout Screen


    Change Player Transparency OFF


    Transfer Player to the next area


    Fadein Screen


    Theoretically, if the player saves the game and quits, the autorun event set on the blank map where they saved should automatically transport them to the next area of the demo.

    i got it !!! i kind of used your idea and moved around some stuff, thank you so much for helping!!


    what i did was:


    same process for the exit map


    blank map:


    >fadein


    >give the option to save the game


    >turned a blank switch on before opening the save screen


    >turned a self switch on (to keep the event from repeating after the player saves)


    >left it as a blank screen so the player knows to exit the game


    then, after i saved and closed, i went back to the map and added an autorun event for if the blank switch was on, to transfer the player to the new map. on load, the player was transferred to the new map, and all was well!!
