I want it to start right as you start the game. i dont want it to repeat however. after this event is done, another character will move onto the screen by itself. thats what im hoping will happen....i just dont know how to do that. also, it will show the text, but the character wont move by herself
I have been where you are many moons ago :)  As far as the other person moving onto the screen what you need to do is create an event either on the edge of your map or make a black border around your map and place the event in there.  The first page of the event would be blank, including the graphic, but your second page would be the characters graphic and move route set to activate upon a switch (which you should turn on upon completion of the original characters movement).  It's actually a pretty slick system when you get the hang of it, but with the switches you can time your events to happen perfectly.

When creating my cutscenes, I find it a lot easier to turn transparency ON and create events using the player sprites, which appear when the cutscene starts.  It's also easier to coordinate the player with other NPCs during the cutscene because I know exactly where the "player" event is.

Then, when the cutscene finishes, set the real Player to the same location as the event, remove the "player" event and turn Transparency OFF.

so hopefully tomorrow i get to go home from the hospital i've been here for 5 days already and it's driving me mad. I miss my family like crazy but at least I get to use my own toiletries and my own clothes. My mom is coming to visit soon i can't wait to see her cause i miss her the most. :kaojoy:
Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
