How to make party members appear and move to begin a conversation scene?

A common conversation starting trope in JRPGs, when the party is represented as a single character, is for the characters to come out of the player's position and begin talking with each other and the original character. Essentially they appear in the player's position and then move to a nearby square either one at a time or simultaneously. Then they start talking in classic JRPG fashion with one message box after another from one or another character.

What's the easiest way to do this in RPG Maker MV?

Is there a way to do it so the characters appear at the same time and move to their conversation positions simultaneously? Or is that not worth the trouble?

Create and name a bunch of blank Same As Character events at the edge of your map. When you want to have the characters "exit", then do Set Event Location and make sure to move route the events to "Though" before placing them on the player, then do the move routing to look like they're exiting and turn "Through" off. Reverse when you want them to "enter" the party leader.

Multiple move routes can be going on simultaneously as long as something is waiting for them to finish.

I wanted to recommend TYR Follower Control like I usually do, but it seems it became a paid plugin when I wasn't looking.

Bummer, its perfect for stuff like this.

Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
