Well, for starters, I wouldnt show the face picture inside the message like that. It looks kinda cheesy, because you already have the full body pictures of the characters. I would just set the text box up like so:

"Character 1

This is merely an example."

When it comes to the actual pictures like that, I can not give any help, but I too have been curious about this. I have an idea of how it would work, but I am not at a computer to test it.

Show Picture event command.

If you need me to tell you "step 1: make a new event" you should probably go read beginner tutorials.

I had never tried this myself, but it seemed like a lot of people that had mentioned this leaned towards scripts for some reason o.o

There are several ways to do this - the simplest is to make a show picture command before the show text command.
More comfortable are the so-called bust scripts (they replace the face automatically), but those require a more complicated setup, and that isn't easily explained.

The RM-Community is very helpful, but we can't make the game for you.
It is always assumed that any developer tries on his/her own and asks specific questions if there is some problem instead of being guided through everything, simply because we all have limited time and prefer to work on our own games before working on someone else' game.

For the same reason there is the rule that you have to wait 72 hours before bumping your topic, if you haven't got an answer in those three days.

If you're really new to RPG-Makers (as your questions and post count suggest), then please follow the link in my signature and work through the tutorials and tips there.

THAT'S where I got that notion from! Okay. Go figure that it could just as easily have been done through Events, and that is why I love this program lol.

Well technically, bust scripts (like from scripters) are easy. Fomar's Picture's to Bust for example, just put them all in the faces folder and set it up normally like show message boxes. It's in one of the ReStaff releases.

I prefer evented only because of animation options.

As said before the easiest most simple way to do it is by script, which as a newbie i suggest Galcv's Message Busts

I find it the most friendly one for my opinion.

But if you want to do so without messing with script you can do it the following way

It's a made up stuff that i came up with on my first project when i wanted a bust character, maybe there's an easier way thou

First you going to work on the picture. Must be in format .PNG

1.Make a transparent picture(with no color at all, not even white) and size it to 544 x 298, which is the screen size without the text box

or get one here

2.Choose your character picture(again with transparent background) that you wish to display, And resize it to a reasonable size, commonly 170x280 (just don't pass 298 height, weight doesn't matter)

3.Paste your character picture on the clear picture you made earlier to either side, Bottom far left or Bottom far right, like so

Bottom Far Left        Bottom Far Right

4.You put the finished picture in in your project folder/Graphic/Pictures

5.Start new event ->"Show Picture...." ->pick the picture you want ->"Show Text...."

*Don't forget to erase the picture or replace it when needed.

If you want two pictures on screen at once, just make two "Show Picture" before text, for each side of the screen and make them in different numbers

Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
