When I display text for dialogues and stuff like that, the game draws the text way too fast. This makes it so the player can skip any line of text by pressing z or enter twice, the first time showing the rest of the text, the second one skipping it.  Is there a way to control how fast text in drawn so that it draws the text at a slower pace, such as a normal talking pace?

If you let the cursor still on the "Show text" window, a list of codes will appear.

Among them, are the ones you need to control the speed of the text.

\.         - Waits 15 frames (quarter second).

\|         - Waits 60 frames (a full second).

\!         - Waits until key is pressed.

\>        - Following text is instant.

\<        - Following text is no longer instant.

\^         - Skips to the next message.

Of course, another option (which is new to Ace if you are a VX user, btw) is the nice little, "show scrolling text" option.

Use that instead of "Show Text" to emphasize special messages.

You can opt to allow the scrolling to be skippable or not.

Lets say that I put \. to make the text wait 15 frames, I would have to do that after every single letter in every single dialogue, or after every word. Might there be a script that would do the same thing?

Well, my friend, there's certainly scripts that are specialized on text functions.

Modern Algebra's scripts are some of the best scripts that you can find.

ATS: Special Message Codes

And better than recommend just one, I will give you a list, so you can find the most appropriated one for your texting needs if by any chance that one doesn't work for you.

Search under the category "Message/Text Display, Show Text Editor".

I can't believe it... my mom is going to sign me up for the Planet Fitness down the street! I need to lower my cholesterol according to my doctor, and I'll need to lose some weight to fit into Helen Henny's skirt (I ordered a skirt for my mascot outfit and realized it was a bit too small). My doctor says I need to lose weight anyway.
I blame my lilest bro for the duck suit. Sketched it and realized it had to be added to a mock fashion magazine cover. The titles are actually inside jokes about the place this NPC is from.
