Hello,

Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this or if the answer I'm looking for has already been answered. If so, I haven't been able to find it using both Google and the search feature here.

Anyways.

So how do I play other people's RPG Maker VX Ace games? I read something about downloading RTP (which I did), but now how does that translate to being able to play the games?

Thanks

:)

If you have downloaded the RPG Maker VX Ace RTP, then when you download other peoples' games, you should just be able to execute the "Game.exe" file and execute the game. Are you having any particular errors when running this file? Are you running on any other Operating System other than Windows? If you elaborate on the problem then we will do all we can to help.

The first step is to download the game itself - if you don't have such a game already, you can start with the sample game Crysalis to test how it's done.

Or the free game pack:

All those games are installed by doubleclicking the downloaded exe file, then you can go to the folder where you installed them to and doubleclick on the game.exe to start the game.

The RTP is additional material that is needed by some games, but not by all - if the game requests the RTP after having been started like said above, you need to install it. if it's already installed or if the game doesn't need it, then you won't get that error message. Games that do not need the RTP are usually about 250MB larger because that's the additional size if you include the RTP graphics into the game itself.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
