Alright, so I was wondering if anyone could help me with this? I'm using Yami's Symphony, and one of my actors uses a random skill. However, this is how I have it setup: The actor casts a skill initiating the common event to run through the several variables that are linked to the outcomes of said random skill, but when he casts the skill to start it, he moves forward and then backwards before moving forward again to cause the random effect skill.

Does anyone know how to get an actor to stop moving on a specific skill? The random common event works fine, but it's the first skill in order to trigger that common event that I'm not sure how to get him to not move when casting it.  :headshake:

I've moved this thread to RGSSx Script Support. Please be sure to post your threads in the correct forum next time. Thank you.

Add a link to the script, please, so people can easily look through it for you.

So I imagine it would have something to do with the notetags on the skills. Did you try changing them? What do you currently have them set to? Maybe show us the skill (full window) so we can see what you've got set up.

Also, was there a forum thread where the script was introduced, that maybe had a demo or something?

Mm, I've actually tried several different combinations with the notetags..however there's nothing like an "un-movable" option. I've had the skill notebox blank, as well as set up with a move option of nothing but wait, and he still moves. The only way I've kept him from not moving while casting this skill, is taking out the "forward" setting in the magic setup section, but that stops all of the spells from moving forward..ugh. :x

The part here(starting at line 152) is what controls all of the skills in moving forward, but I'm not sure how to add a separate section for only one skill, while keeping it part of magic..or without breaking something.

    MAGIC_SETUP =[

      ["MESSAGE"],

      ["MOVE USER", ["FORWARD", "WAIT"]],

      ["POSE", ["USER", "CAST"]],

      ["STANCE", ["USER", "CAST"]],

As for the demo, there weren't any skills in it that were setup to not move; Just flashy stuff like multiple hit attacks.

you need to give that skill a specific action sequence without a moving part - leaving the notebox blank will revert that skill to default action sequences.

The Symphony manual should describe how to define specific action sequences for skills - sorry, I can't help as I've never used Symphony, I only checked its options a while back. But it should NOT include changing anything in the script - only placing the correct notetags for action sequences if I remember correctly.

WOW! I...feel so dumb/oblivious. It works now that I had took the movement out of the action. See, before it wasn't working because I either had the notebox blank, or had any kind of movement in it for the actor, even if it was just waiting. Thanks for pointing out something so obvious Andar. This can be closed now Shaz.  :headshake:

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
