I am having an issue.

I set up an npc event thing to go through a conversation to recruit a new person

but when i leave the map in game and come back the npc recruit-able has re spawned awkwardly

So my question is how to stop events from re spawning when the character leaves the room/map and comes back.

I have split your question out from the tutorial into its own topic in the correct area.

You need to use switches for this. When the person is recruited, turn on a switch or self switch. Then create a new event page with no graphic and set its condition (above the graphic area) to be that same switch or self switch.

You should read up on some more beginner tutorials, as this is a basic function that you will need to use a LOT in your game, so you need to have a good understanding of how they work.

To add on to that. You want to use self switches only for this unless you plan to do elaborate events, which you probably wont for just letting someone into your party.

You may not. You might want other things to happen, or other areas to open up, once the character has joined the party. Switches are more appropriate for that, especially if the character is not going to STAY in the party (which makes the Actor X in Party condition on event pages useless).

Mmm, true. It's best for him to just look at the tutorials and learn how to do different things and why he would want to use certain things for different stuff.

So just go into the tutorial forum, I'm not sure what its called but there is an event tutorial for starters. So just read up on that and experiment with things. You'll start to understand.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
