How to update actors name without having to reset whole game

In my game I've changed the name of a few actors and will probably add new actors in the future as I develop the game further, any solutions?

It's not entirely clear what you're needing. Do you need to change an actor name through an event? All you have to do is select the "Change Name..." command.

Or are you just having issues with updating their names through the Database?

Or are you saying that you don't want to have to manually update every instance of the actor's name in messages? In which case you can just use \N[x] and replace 'x' with the actor ID.

i was making my game then i decided I didnt like one charicters name and changed it in the database but becuase of how rpgmaker mv works, it doesnt get updated in any of my current savs, that charicter still has their old name, if i want the new name i need to make a new game

For the purposes of playtesting you shouldn't be relying on save files, it isn't practical whatsoever. What I do is set a "story" variable to keep track of event states that I can control at any time so I can start a playtest from whatever point I want.

Mad O' Malley... a stick figure that's afraid of it's existence being erased. so they always start battle in an anxious state.
Before, I was drawing all the sprite work, super big and shrinking it down. Which was really time consuming if thing's changed. So instead I'm drawing the characters sketch, and then remaking it with pixel art instead.
