How to use an HD sprite, but not have it huge?

The art style I want to use for my upcoming game is going to be a lot like The Binding Of Isaac Rebirth, where the sprites are almost flash-like, but still sprites.
Doing a sprite of that resolution, and importing it into RPG Maker MV, causes the character to be Massive compared to the rest of the game.
Is there any possible way to keep the resolution the same, but size the actual character graphic down? If that makes sense?
Here are some images showing what I mean.

Here's a sprite of a slime in the default resolution:

Here's a sprite of an HD slime, as it is imported into the game.

I'm looking to make that HD slime around the same size as the one before it, but less pixely, if you know what I mean. This isn't the best example, but I basically want HD graphics without honka-donka sprites clogging the screen.

Tutorials is for presenting tutorials that you wrote yourself, "how-to" questions go into support.

As for your question - increase screen size as well, and if you need too large a screen you might have to increase grid size as well (both need plugins that already exist)

Resolution (in pixel per inch) equals Screen size (in pixel, like 816x624) divided by monitor size (in inch or zoll, the device in front of your chair).

Since you can't expect people to change their monitor, there is a direct proportion between resolution and screen size.
But if everything is to be HD, you'll need to change grid size to use HD-Tiles as well.

Alrighty, thanks for the answer.
Also I'll remember to post in the MV support if I need help in the future.
