How will Windows 8 affect compatibility?

So I'm moving my game to my windows laptop because of compatibility issues with my MacOS, but my windows laptop is only on Windows 8, and I believe it may be too old to update it to a newer OS. How will this affect the compatibility of my game when I complete and share it?

As long as your computer has the specs to run the editor, it should not matter.
RMMV has been programmed for Win7 or later, which is older.
and the games it produces are HTML5, so the OS doesn't matter at all.

So you only should chec for things like RAM (4GB or more) and monitor size and so on.
