How would I get started learning RGSS3?

I'm interested in learning RGSS3, but in not sure where to get started, because most videos seem to assume you know RGSS2, but I don't. I know a small amount from looking at the pre-made scripts and having a look at other people's scripts, but I don't know enought to actually get started on making my own. So, how can I get started learning?

There are lots of tutorials out there. Pretty sure Tsukihime and Fomar have done a fair few - no doubt there will be other as well.

I also have written two small tutorials, they both assume you understand classes modules methods etc. Feel free to look at them

Seconding the recommendation for DP3's tutorial vids. I'm now on video 42 of 55, and it's really helped me make sense of a lot of how RGSS3 works.

Agreed. It took me a while to find DP3's videos on youtube, but they have been valuable so far.

I'll add one suggestion here. Once you have seen and practiced a few tutorials, start looking at the script requests part of the board, and see if you can figure out the request on your own. So far I have only managed to pull off one over the course of a month, but still the practice alone has been valuable.

How much time did you put into learning how to program? If you have absolutely no background in programming, then learning the basics for the first programming language usually takes several months - that cannot be done by reading a few texts, it takes a lot of practice.

Maybe DP3's scripts would be more up your alley? I'd suggest having RPG Maker open while listening and implementing what they are doing at the same time. At least that is what worked for me.
