Forgive me if I use the wrong words for this part, I don't think I paid attention to the correct terms for what I mean to type out:

How do I reduce the file size for a packaged game? After I compress and export, since I included the RTP and everything,, checking all the boxes, this tiny game I made comes out at 199.86MBs!!

Is there a way to reduce it to something more around 100? I'm looking at Rapidshare right now and just laughing at the snail pace of its upload.

Would it help to delete all the stuff from the game that isn't used? Images, animations?

One of the things that makes games big is the Audio. The first step should be looking for smaller formats for your audio. Sometimes you can reduce the quality of the audio to reduce the filesize (if you don't reduce too much, the loss in quality is almost unoticeable, while the gain in space is quite significant) Also, cut out the RTP, adds only files actually used, i'm sure you are not using 100% of the RTP.

You can't delete RTP stuff. You either include the RTP, or you don't include it. If you want to remove it, you can give players a link to download it from the official site. They then download and install the RTP, and download and install your game without RTP, and they can play. Or if you don't want to include the RTP and you don't want players to have to do an extra download, you remove the RTP and then manually add back in every RTP element that the game actually uses. This includes all graphics and audio listed in your System tab as well as those used in Animations that are used in the game, plus any that you've actually used in your database and maps.

Any audio files you have that are MP3 should be converted into OGG (you can do this with Audacity.)

That usually saves me a lot of space.

Alright, what about people that do not have RPGMaker? Can they download the RTP if I were to create the file without RTP?

Of course, that's why it's called RTP (=run-time-package, similiar to for example Microsoft's Visual-Basic or C++ runtime libraries) and is available as a separate download from this site.

The entire option to include or not include RTP would be useless if you can't download it without RM - the link is in the top right menus

The RTP is kind of designed as a separate download specifically for people who do not have RPG Maker. One of the purposes of making it separately available is so people who don't have RPG Maker can still play your games, without requiring huge downloads.

There is at least one tutorial around that shows you how to remove the RTP from your project. I just don't recall if it assumes you will do it right at the start, or if it goes through and lists the steps if you decide to do it part way through, or at the end.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
