All right,

Some folks from Steam liked to make me peek at your site quite often and I couldn't until I created an account.

But the troubles I got to some official site seems to follow me here on this forum;

Whenever I try to quote clicking on the button Quote...  Well it doesn't work for me :(   And when I would try to answer to some specific post, it would be harder to follow... Not just because English is not my native tongue.

Whenever I try to cut and paste a link in our from this forum elsewhere or here...  Well it is as copy paste functions didn't worked or were never invented.

I wanted to find ways to have some specific pages or tutorials or information page from here copy-pasted either to someone or as reminder and you know how sometimes those lines are and confusing by hand and breaking up if made badly since it isn't quite half as clear as what I type in here and I can't retype a whole webpage by hand if I want to quote it.  So I was thinking to use the blog if it was for myself.  But I guess it will be as it works for my signature I just made and saw nothing happening on screen.

So lets hope this works and I see my spoiler test in my signature section and then can see if I can start to paste something interesting in.

Anyone having vanquished that problem please answer me. ^^;

I know I'm old...  But there is lengths to use liquid paper on my screen!

DREAD!  I felt so much alone.  Cool to see you pop here.

Well, as you can see I am terribly unlucky in those forums.  (If someone else happens to read when I solve my signature issue, just that I have <spoiler> written that way hoping that it would help me </spoiler> *facepalm*)

And I see you were awarded with much love.  I am still tip toeing in there.  Thanks to kind of got me intrigued by this forum.  But you are in troubles now; I know where to bother you now!

Let's stop posting on this thread. I will private message you so we can solve this, or maybe enter Steam to use chat.

Just wait for me.

It's supposed to be [spoiler*] without the * of course.

Also, that might just be your browser you know. I can't quote or insert images/links with IE, but I can do all that with Firefox/Chrome.

Moving to Site Feedback

I'm sure there were one or two others who posted a while ago saying they were having troubles using the quote buttons and copying/pasting. Maybe do a quick search to see if some well-chosen keywords turn anything up? I don't recall the specific solutions (or even if there WERE any). My initial suggestion would also be to try a different browser, or to see what browser plugins you may have running that you might not be aware of.

What browser are you using? Do you have any plugins, eg: adblock?

what browser? I use adblock with Chrome and have no issues.

Did you try another browser as suggested and see if it makes a difference?

If someone asks for help in the forum, it's probably better to GIVE that help in the forum rather than PM.

1. What if you got it wrong? Nobody would be able to point that out.

2. What if someone else comes along with the same question, hoping to see the answer? It's not here because you PM'd it.

Well in general, it seems to me to be something about the implementation of BBCode. When I reply and have the upper-leftmost button on the toolbar (the BBCode toggle) off, so the rest of the editing buttons are off/disabled, I can reply with the quoted post, being quoted properly.

Following that, for those people who like to apply properties automatically through the use of the toolbar (add links, spoiler tags, and code blocks), the BBCode button can be toggled back on for the duration of the editing/replying cycle; I just personally make sure it's toggled off before finally posting the response.

Note that, also, if the button was toggled on at the time you replied, I know that toggling it off and clicking on the quote button from the post you want quoted, will still insert the quotation into an already-opened reply. A somewhat cool trick, in any case.

Oh, now I remember. KSJP had this issue, it was some adware.

Marq: When you're back, can you tell me if the notification/PM buttons on the top right of the site work?

At this point, it's hard to tell if the original poster will be back; the last time seen online was 28 July 2014, and as of this point my PM is still marked unread. If nothing more is heard in the next 2-3 days, I'll consider this issue either answered, or unanswerable.

Sorry I am not on chrome. And I rarely use social medias. Since the [ ] signs worked, I decided that I might just use them instead of BB coded at one point I thought if that was recurrent in forums it was a way to protect us both sides.

@hotfirelegend

Yes they are!

Still I should type quotes in between sets of brackets to copy what you asked for ^^

I'm doing a test now because normally each times I post here, I can't use the quotations, I can't copy-paste a link from outside in here and in the past (I didn't verified tonight) I can't use any buttons around the text box without freezing the forum for me.

So...  I know that BBC code is used in here except I can't remember all of them and I would be glad to copy and paste most from a notepad while typing in here......  Except I can't copy-paste.

So for a bit I had it on my way able to make a spoiler window to my siggy...  But, well now I want to do more and I would like help not ending up in the site freezer!  ;)

Could you be lenient on me and let me do tests here?  Kinda to practice a bit or, just show me a few un-freezing tricks?

Thanks in advance.

Are you on a PC or a mobile device? I think that can cause a difference.

Sometimes I can't paste into a post, and it's because I've got the reply box set to use the WYSIWYG editor. If I change it back to plain text, I can do everything just fine - the only problem with that is that I need to actually type all the tags instead of just clicking a button.

Oh... I didn't remembered this tread but with the new updates on the forum I will try a few tests now.

And the pm and instant message center up there work and you can copy paste your links in your status and replies to status.  I don<t understand how it is so elusive to do so here for me :S

TEST

  • series of tests..... Oooooooh!
It seems instant now I see even what it'll look like!
All right big big test now LINKs ;

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
