So I will post this here just to make sure it is not in a wrong subcategory.

So, there is a sentence in Terms of Use that is confusing me.

Note that English is not my native language.

I suppose I can interact and communicate well most of the time.

But when it comes to EULAs there is no space for misunderstanding. Right?

Here comes the part:

2. The resources included in the Product (the "Resource Pack") may be used with any game development software that retains the Company's rights.  User can create, distribute, or sell their original game by using the Resource Pack only if they meet all the following conditions:

What does that mean?

Can I make for example my own engine, and use the assets with it to make a game, giving proper credit to the product?

I mean as long I am not the classic idiot that will claim "Oh! Those graphics? Yes they are mine. Mine mine mine everything here is made by me, hooray plagiarism" is it ok to use it out of the scope of RPG Maker, IG Maker GG Maker or any other Degika's engine?

Resources may be packaged with commercial or non-commercial games and shared as long as they are protected via some means of encryption.

Well I have seen somewhere that this excludes music files, since no encryption is provided. Does that apply here too?

Can we use for instance music pieces to our projects, without encrypting them?

If not, where can we find a solution to this?

If you're using the audio files in RPG Maker (any, legally bought from us version) you do not need to worry about the encryption.

It's there for people using it in other engines; in which case nearly every single engine will allow the user to (in some way) encrypt the audio. We ask that you take that step.

If the engine you're using really can't encrypt audio in any way, contact us and explain the engine you're using. While I can't promise you'll be given some slack, we certainly are pretty understanding people.

I hope that clears up concerns over that.

2) As long as you abide by the next set of rules written in there (which is basically the description of that major line), you can use it.

Yes.

The reason for the quoted restriction is that there are some game makers that void the original copyright.

In those cases, their EULA contains something like "anything used in any game made with our engine can be used by ourselves as well".

Sometimes this only means that they can advert their engines with screenshots of your game, sometimes that means they can use the resoures in other games made in the same engine and sometimes even other uses for it.

But the Licences for the DLC packs cannot be transferred in any form, so any engine that claims such a thing in their EULA in any form is disqualified for using the DLC-packs.

That's the background for that phrase of the licence.

Aha! Makes sense. Of course. Thanks for clarifying that! :D

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
