So, because I must find something to do other than actually work on my current project, I came up with an idea.
Title: Hungry! or, The Legend of the Man Who Ate Everything
Was the legend part there just to annoy Dalph?Yes no, of course not.
Story:
Basically, a young guy by the name of Scott gets a job at the local tavern, but unluckily gets an old witch's order wrong, and has a curse placed on him. The curse gives him a dangerous appetite and the ability to eat pretty much whatever. He embarks on a quest to remove the curse. Along the way, he is joined by a group of party members that help him along the way.
Gameplay:
The game will be a roguelike, with some transferable items and permanent upgrades between runs.
The main mechanic is the ability to eat pretty much everything. Items, weapons, certain enemy's, party members...
Doing so will grant buffs and debuffs. Your basic attack is very weak, but you get about 3 turns, so it's essential to buff up before hand. The penalty of eating party members is....well...ya know. They might not be very helpful afterwards.
Setting: Yeah okay I've put zero thought into this .
Characters:
Scott: A young, typical guy. A bit clueless, not the brightest, and of course, very hungry.
Betty: The world's worst healer girl. Actually hurts people with her magic. Scott notes that she might make a good snack if things go downhill.
Frenella: The lovely daughter of an eastern king, who is determined to stay alive and uneaten. Thus, she makes it a goal to be as useful and helpful as possible.
Eddy: A nervous chap who would give his life for his pet parrot, Luella.
That's all I got for now. Will probably start fiddling around with it whenever I hit a roadblock on Dime.
