Hello I am making a zombie game and I want to make a car vehicle sorta like the boat or airship ones.

My game is a zombie game that mimics the movie "shaun of the dead"

So I am stuck at how do I make a car my character would be able to use

They are all very successful in business now with families. They had one or two albums that made it to cassette tape i think also records. I am friends with a lot of So Cal and English bands from the 80s and 90s. You can use their music freely for non commercial. Commercial contact them or, if you would like I can contact them for you. We can probably work a free deal, to promote their old album and only use 1 or 2 songs. BUt it is fun in the Sun music. They were a big influence on the band "Sublime" from Long Beach another band I still get free back stage passes from, fun to have old friends.

Land vehicle script

this one is plug and play, then small boat click the picture  to change the boat and make it a car a horse or any land vehicle that will use same pass no pass on tiles as player walking has.

FEATURES
Specify regions or terrain tags that you can disembark/embark for boats, ships and airships. The player can only board or leave those vehicles from the specified regions/tags. Possible use could include boats landing anywhere, ships only landing at ports, airships having designated airports.

I also want to be able to run over zombies with it (like in the movie) ( check out my demo it totaly lags when vehicle hits the zombie???? how to fix this ???? make it run over zombie with no sotp start in movement..............


oh also I need find out how to make the speed faster than normal walking speed

is there a script out there for car vehicles I did search on forums but didn't find anything.

I'll edit the scripts to have a Terms of Use, but basically use it as you wish for non-commercial and commercial projects, no in-game credit required (always appreciated though) and just don't edit the commented parts of the scripts. Enjoy!

my proj is none commercial friends only - way too much music great 80s for BSM but also have cut video scenes as u accomplish the tasks from the movie

also the great line where hes like ok here what will do.... basically tells all that will happen in rest of movie sorta but great as here is the task to do for game

when i finish I will credit the scripts 
guess i prob need a script for that a credits cut on start menu?


i like  yanfly for plug and play 

wish i knew more about the code so i could use one of the more advanced battle scripts

got most the ones listed above i put headers what author above like sections

KMotd also listed so aye no worries as an artist i believe in credit when do
would like to do a collaboration project

if so sorry new to forum, need relearn ins and outs and all new ones i need learn where to find stuff

I actually thought the car could be done with just events......?

also anyone know how do I make it so they need to find the key to the car before they can drive it...

also i want to make it so     if player crashes into parked cars maybe go to a garage to repair car or disable the car make it a crashed up graphic

and need to find another car

does will's script for cars =?  is it set to 3 land vehicles by default?

i new to scripts sorry

also i think i will have to make a horse land vehicle

take a horse sprite add in the player in photoshop make a new sprite with char mounted sweet

looks like the default is only first one is a car/land vehicle.

how do i make it so all 3 are land vehicles

i need 2 diff cars (like in movie)

and want to make a house one on 3rd spot/airship slot

Double posting is posting twice in a row - even if the content is different. Post #6 is yours, and post #7 is yours, 75 minutes later.


I don't have time to go into this in detail, but if you want your car event to be able to go everywhere a player can, you MIGHT be able to just do it with events. Use a conditional branch to see if the player has the key (there's an "Item ... in Inventory" option in the Conditional Branch). When you're ready to put them into the car, do a Change Actor Graphic (I'd do it to everyone, if you don't know who's going to be the leader), Set Move Route to make them move faster (optionally), and disable the menu (you don't want them going into the menu or saving and seeing that all the party members are now cars). On whatever event you're using to make them get out of the car (a garage, parking spot, whatever) do a Change Actor Graphic and Set Move Route again to put them back the way they should be, and enable the menu again.


And having said that, those instructions seem REALLY familiar to me. I'm sure I've gone over them in the recent past. Maybe you could do a search for Vehicle and see what comes up. It might be that the other person who asked ended up going with a script option anyway. But there are bound to be some more instructions in that thread if you can find it.

yup i did a search before i made any posts.
only saw one but it didn't really answer questions i had or go into detail like you just did

if i do  it as event can i exit vehicle anytime like when i use the script
really wish i knew how to make the script have 3 land vehicles??
i haven't seen that covered for sure?
also some something about glav script and them working together but couldn't find the link to galv main one the patch was for

There ARE scripts around that let you add new vehicles (the thread I mentioned had the name of one, and maybe a link to it as well - it was really recent - I'm surprised it didn't come up in your searches - maybe it IS the Galv one). I don't know what types of vehicles - none of the default ones are land.


You COULD make it land anywhere, but you'd need to use a parallel process event to detect a keypress when you're in the vehicle. Then you'd need to use extra events (or a script) to remember where your car event should be. If you're going to allow the player to move between maps, that's an added complication (you can't move an event from one map to another).

well the will C... vehicle one someone linked above makes small boat into land vehicle goes under game objects section of game os scripts and makes use of the normal boat  avail in game op sys

i am sure prob a way to do same for all 3 os vehicles
but would be best done by will n the other pros at it

i set up map that the sidewalk is no step  for vehicle portion of the game 
will's script uses the char walking default for small boat's uses / able terrain

will's info in header was good easy for me to know how turn event touch on while in vehicle default is off

most likely its galvs script
stuff i tried of his is very stable and low level of probs with other scripts
dang u got my hopes up i just checked dont have time but figured best to link it if he did have one. he has vehicle on off locations script
not a vehicle script
checked his entire list of vx ace no  joy

sadly i still did not find the post u mentioned did u have a link?
it could be someone didnt put good tags on it?
else i would think it should pop top on search


here is a mapshot of one of the first zones I made
its the outside of the winchester tavern

gives a cool 3D feel to the zone 
its not a paralax either wish i knew how do those well but that will folow soon nuf on ye ole skillset
no mobs in mapshot - it looks like it up top but thats background no pass tiles
on way they is non stop zombies a virtual sea of hehe

Is there a way to add more tags to a post?

i have vehicle car and car vehicle tags but would like add "vehicle script" as a tag and a few more variants ... Ill find some other scripts link all the available ones here so we can close the thread and have ? vehicle scripts ? come up top on search.....

Will do you know a script to set collision of vehicle not be just the one 32 x 32 region maybe a all spaces within 1 or for larger vehicles?

BTW awesome job !!!   on your very user friendly script

I know I love plug and play scripts like that

I am not much of a forum user I set up many for guilds/companies in games but thats pretty much extent of my posting

my post was originally not in script thread because I had lots of questions about vehicle, and not just whats the link for any given script

i thought it maybe nice to have a thread devoted to vehicles, seems lots people have questions about vehicles. like my question for will on making more than just the one spot as a presence per say for trigger events?  Its kinda a whole bunch dif topics the use of vehicle prompts I did a search and couldn't find much. oh I also need to find out if his plug and play can be made to do all 3 operating sys vehicles be land vehicles.

I would like you to know I am not just posting  to get my post numbers up, as you can see I only have a few. after a week of study on vehicles prob wont see me post much after.

We don't have "threads about subjects". If someone needs help with a particular problem, they post about it with the details and we help them. Then we close the thread. Having one big thread that a hundred people contribute to makes it next to impossible to see what's answered and what's not. What you are talking about is more suited to tutorials, and they require a "teaching" format, not just a listing/linking format.


So is your question resolved and can this be closed? If not, please just stick with the problem you're having so we can work at solving it.

Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
