Only by Javascript editing, and that tends to be unstable. Though honestly you may wish to examine if you REALLY need a map that large, as even Final Fantasy games are under 256 x 256 tiles for their world map.
You can set up funnel or bottleneck points on your map and have the player seamlessly transfer to another section (or hemisphere lol). This would work easily on land. If you have oceanic travel enabled, it might be difficult to make it look reasonable. And then there's always the option of teleporting.
Not by default. There are some tricks you can do. Make the party travel through caves or something to get to other world maps. You can also stitch together world maps to make a larger one. I developed a plugin that can do this pretty easily if you're interested. It'll even let you fly an airship between maps which is something you normally can't do.

Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
