Hey. I can't seem to figure out how to reset an event. I can use the erase event action, but even that messes up my events. It's the same event with the Sahagin which started working after my last post, but when I tried to place 'Erase Event' in the line within the battle processing at the point the player loses, the event just was not there when I entered the map in test mode. Can anyone help me figure this out please?

Because of the problem, I deleted the 'Erase Event' action on my event page. The Sahagin must go back to its rest by locale, every time a player loses the battle. It works when the player leaves the map though. Below are the four event pages.

The second event on my map, is supposed to activate after the first one, and when the player returns to the map. That one is the Sahagin in the lower left corner of the first. Below are the event pages for the second event.

On your first event, page 3 and 4 have exactly the same conditions, so page 3 will never be active.  Why do you have a single command, to turn on a switch, on its own page with no graphic?  Just move that command to the bottom of the previous page and get rid of page 4 altogether (or if that event is meant to disappear after that switch is turned on, then condition it by that switch and not the other).

you have multiple event pages with exactly the same conditions.

If several pages have their conditions fulfilled at the same time (which is automatic if they have the same conditions), then page priority enforces that only the page with the highes number will be active.

Activating switch 8 will activate page 4 and NOT page 3.

and that is only part of your mistakes.

For example on the first screenshot, you have both custom autonomous movement AND a set move route for the same event - those will erase and overwrite each other, because only one move control can be active at any given time.

I suggest you follow the link to the starting point in my signature and work through the eventing tutorials until you have a better idea on how event conditions, movement and triggers etc work.

I'm not quite understanding what it is you wrote in the brackets. Could you show it to me as a screenshot please Shaz? Thanks.

And thanks Andar for your explanation, I will view that tutorial of yours just to see if I overlooked anything last time I studied. I had noticed in test mode that I did only need one type of move control, but that did not really work out how it was supposed to. The Sahagin is meant to view the PC through the bars of the opening in the wall during the event as the PC then reacts with a sweat drop at the beast looking at him. That's what I had planned at the end of the event in the small room. I'll see if it works with only one move control again, just to double check on my decision.

And event two I don't know works yet, seeing as I haven't got the first event working. If there is anything wrong with that one, please let me know? Thanks.

If event 1 is meant to disappear when switch 19 gets turned on, put the Control Switches to turn 19 on at the bottom of page 3 and remove it from page 4, then change the condition on page 4 from switch 8 to switch 19 instead.

Thanks. I've changed it now. At some point I'll check it works, then let you know what has happened. I won't be game testing it because I am studying a tutorial right now, as Andar has mentioned I should do. Let's hope this will teach me what I need to know so I'll remember it.
