Hi. Most of you probably don't know me. Just wanted to say a couple years back I was an active member of the community, and in fact with some responsibilities. Due to personal problems I had to abandon those responsibilities and quit the community. It's kind of perplexing to realize how much time has passed since then.
I didn't quit game development. I just stopped actively making games for myself. Joined up a few studios as a game designer to make other things. Ended up reading a whole bunch too, and that's seriously been helpful to me.
Recently ended my contract with a studio, so I have a bit of time now for myself to contemplate what to do next. I've had quite a few ideas that would probably be laid out well in an RPG format, so I decided to return to my RPG Maker roots. Hopefully will be able to make something meaningful out of it.
I also would like to offer an extremely late apology to those whom I'd disappointed by leaving so abruptly. I'm here to take any ridicules coming my way should there be any.
But yeah, I didn't die.

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
Can someone recommend some fun story-heavy RPGs to me? Coming up with good gameplay is a nightmare! I was thinking of making some gameplay platforming-based, but that doesn't work well in RPG form*. I also was thinking of removing battles, but that would be too much like OneShot. I don't even know how to make good puzzles!
one bad plugin combo later and one of my followers is moonwalking off the screen on his own... I didn't even more yet on the new map lol.
