I don't get notifications for watched threads awaiting moderation?

Okay, I don't see any rules stickied at the top, so here we go.

So I had a couple threads on the forum that were "Awaiting moderation before being displayed publicly." On the thread list of the forum, the "Watched" icon was there, but they weren't in my list of watched threads, and, even worse, I didn't get a notification when a mod of all people posted on it. Was this intentional? I'd assume it must be or somebody else would have mentioned it by now?

EDIT: Also, I'm watching a thread that I haven't posted in for a long time, and I don't get alerts anymore! This is unacceptable!

1) no, unfortunately no one gets notifications on topics that are not yet public - even we moderators only get the notifications when the topic is finally approved, until then they rest in a moderation queue.

2) watched topics should get you notifications ONCE if you don't check them - if you do not react to that notification and don't go to that topic, the forum soft won't bother you again until you have visited the topic.
Check the notification itself - it says "there might be more posts" because it doesn't notice you for every added topic, but only once for the first new topic after your last visit. (you don't need to post, but you need to visit to keep the notifications up to date)
