So I was sitting down for like..... 4 hours making this maze and thinking it all through and I finally made the skeleton of the maze and how it was going to go about.... Then I go and look at the map settings and I see - what... Maze generator!?!?!? Are you serious!?!?!? AAAAAGH!

Oh well, At least if I decide to change the theme again, it won't come with such a hefty price tag of making a brand new maze.

Probably better that way to be honest. There are probably a bunch of people who used the maze generator and so all games would more often than not have very similar mazes. At least when you make your own, you're a bit more original about it.

The generator is a nice touch, but I feel it takes the fun and creativity out of making the game yourself.
It is sadly usless for me at this point considering my sprites are near on double height that most rpg makers use.

the generator doesnt so much make a maze as it makes a series of roguelike rooms. imo the generator lacks any charm or creativity, so I'm glad you only found out about it after you put honest effort into your maze. Good Job!

the generator can create the basics of a maze or a rogue-like room system (it has some variable settings to experiment with in MV), but you'll usually need several randomizers to come up with a base, and then you need to touch up that base maze with decorations and details.
(never use generator mazes without that manual workover, the direct results are not good for a game)

I plan my mazes (most of the time). I use the maze generator as a base but once I'm done tinkering with it it's something completely different. :p

Well I prefer non generated maps nor maze 'cause you can check if there's a mistake and fix it than using a generator and plus you can learn something from it.

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
