I just noticed from the Steam Workshop that it'll start being menetizing soon...

I was surprised and ran almost over all walls until I read their Q&A realizing that most of the peoples I like to collaborate with are...  Non US residents and that I am not yet ready to spurt anything than my artist name outside and everywhere.

So for those curious who are also on Steam and using the workshop, and if it may help and you are from US and already think that in the upcoming 2015 it might be a nice additional tool to you, here what I found yesterday to my big surprise;

->(There was a link here that don't seems to work or lead anywhere unless you are on Steam I guess.  Sorry one post below pointed out Steam might not like that if their links don't work outside of Steam or something I guess.)<-

http://store.steampowered.com/subscriber_agreement/

Pay close attention to 6B

And their FAQ kind of;

https://steamcomunity.com/workshoppaymentinfofaq/

I'm not sure if it works on old Workshop projects or just when you open up new!

(I just know I'm being just trolled around about mentioning it on Steam by a certain individual.)

All those pages were blocked by my browser because they were flagged to be typosquaters.

Sorry.   I seem also to get my dyslexia in the title too!  Thanks Archeia.  (I just can't copy-paste links to here for some reasons...probably security ones.  I understand.)

I promise I'll get a hang on this some day.  I get more bedbugs to fight at the present.

(Notice Bloodpaste2 banner)

Woah you are the one doing that game I commented the screenshots on Steam!  Can I add you?

You should realized that it a ground for a ban in steam if you try to post a incorrect/scam steam page. You should be careful on how you post it.

And also I don't think this is applied to RPG maker VX  ACE(yet?) as this is only applied to games such as Team Fortress 2, Dota 2, and Counter Strike: global offense. Unless if Delgica/ Or whoever handled the workshop for it could add a option where you can buy a item in the workshop like a commission fee or something. But steam/Delgica will get the cut of the fee so it's consider useless and much more expensive than talking to them directly.

For those of us that don't have Steam accounts and therefore can't get to any of those pages (other than the subscriber agreement, which just seems rather generic) without one, could someone explain what this is actually all about?  And what is menetizing?

I think he misspelled Monetizing but anyways.

this feature in workshop allowed you to sell your workshop creation, Mods, maps, etc... (Ex: Weapons you created for Team fortress 2)

But it's still depends on the game in question like Team fortress 2 it will go thru a voting system much like greenlight. If it have a lot of upvote and valve also love the item you created. They will use it in-game itself (with your permission of course). Thus allowing you to earn money if people buy it in the in-game store. Like if someone buy a community made weapon at Mann co. store (Team fortress 2 in-game store) 25% of the sale will go to the creator of such item.

For RPG maker VX Ace case. Is still depends if Delgica will utilizing this system to allowed content creator (Music, graphics, etc...) to sell their creations on the workshop easier than to go thru their lengthy contract and such.

And also this already been effective a few years ago already.

Here a further information on how it's works: (note since steam did not post some info regarding how it's works I posted a example game workshop about page that utilizing this feature {no need for login to read}) please bear with me.

I think it's unlikely that Enterbrain will allow that feature for the RM's.

The problem is with the EULA on selling RTP-Edits - you can distribute RTP-Edits for free, but need a special licence to be allowed to sell RTP-edits. So far as I know only Celianna and Lunarea ever received that special licence for some of their tiles (that info is about a year old, so it might have changed since then, but I doubt it).

Every workshop-item to be set up for sale would have to be checked for content before they could allow such a sale and I don't think Degica has the capacity to do that on top of their regular work. And I don't know if the additional money from such sales (as only a percentage of the item price) would be enough to hire someone for that task.

Jomarcenter is right I meant Monetizing, but being French and Dyslexic I don<t see many of my mistakes while spelling down.

As for Steam scam, I wasn't aware that Steam was able to scam themselves off.  Thought it is a good thing that you pointed it out to me, I could had made a perfect fool of myself or otherwise being very harmful to everyone else if the copy/paste functions worked out on this forum for me, instead of me painstically typing everything down on the keyboard, verifying and reverifying because I know I have dyslexia the said Steam links I was trying to post here and that got shrink down without my will as I reposted.  And I tried to correct it many times but somehow using tinyurl would had made me nervous for you if it was a matter of not being able to post links that should be no longer than some amount of digits and letters.

Still,  I thought it was interesting to see that appearing in Steam Workshop, and someone here sent me a private message (thank-you) telling me that there was somehow here also a workshop and to stick with you.

I dunno yet what are the terms of selling our games on Enterbrain or Degica, but I certainly saw a lot of great cool DLCs on stores and I think that is why it was pointed out for me.  ^_^

So thank-you if it works for some Canadian/Greek/UK mixt of makers or musicians, scripter and spriters in here!  (I might not be ready yet, but I'm thinking of giving it a shot in the next 5 years.)

Addendum after seeing the Team Fortress link on the workshop;

Yeah... Seems a lot of job for a non-Valve product that is more or less very active and even autonomous outside of Steam compounds.  I mean, we're kinda international and the way the community is tied up, it means pretty much that we should stick more or less to Greenlight rather than that (altought I guess there too they might focus on US only type of legalisms and taxations).   because for some hypothetical example, a miniteam of African/Chinese/German/Croatian/Canadian/Haitian/Japanese developers might never ever get released due to the share and digital US paper filling.  XD

And also true for those just thinking of moding existing assets.  It is hard sometimes to explain to them copyright.  Sometimes brand name gaming franchises just look as pop-art for them!  o_O

Not to worry, since they are there on Steam, I didn't read of anyone suing Steam to link something that damaged their computer ^^

(Although I have an acquaintance telling that Steam is a spyware. :p   Well he best see that with Valve ^^)

so hopefully tomorrow i get to go home from the hospital i've been here for 5 days already and it's driving me mad. I miss my family like crazy but at least I get to use my own toiletries and my own clothes. My mom is coming to visit soon i can't wait to see her cause i miss her the most. :kaojoy:
Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
