For some reason every single time I use an item that restores MP with one of Mog Hunter's new battle huds ex with battle command ex with battle engine sympony it keeps giving this error:

Help.png

I really do not know how to fix it. So I really hope some one could help me. I really want to use it in my game badly and I want to use battle engine symphony with it because it is too hard to set up an enemy sprite with tankentai.

Here is a link to the script:

I am using the five actor hud on the very bottom.

EDIT:

I just noticed this error only occurs when the first actor tries to use an item on himself. It only happens to the first actor if a custom skill type is added.

Here is the error in process:

Basically the error means that some data is not defined. The reason for this can be difficult to find.

The most often found cause is that you might have loaded an old savegame. A lot of scripts require the use of new game to define their data, and those definitions will only be stored in saves done after that. Loading an older savegame without those data initialisations results in error messages "undefined for nil".

The second option might be that one of your scripts is configured to create data only for the four default battlemembers, and that causes the problem with the five-battlemember-scripts. In that case you can try to solve the problem by reordering the scripts, but most probably you'll need a compatibility fix that adds the fifth definition to the script that has only the default four.

I didn't load an old save at all, and I do have it configured for five characters.  I took it from the demo.

I wasn't talking about configuring the HUD script or a compatibility patch for it.
I was talking about your other, non-linked scripts - they may need the compatibility fix.

For example I know that Battle Engine Symphony assumes four actors by default, and needs additional data if you're using five.

And sometimes scripts break if they get added data in different formats, that's when you need compatibility patches to combine those scripts.

Start removing the other scripts one by one in a copy of the project, when the bug vanishes you'll know that the last removed script created the incompatibility with the new HUD

I'll try.

EDIT:
No matter what I do it gives me the error.

Sorry for the double post. I cannot post a demo of the problem because I am using a paid resource pack for my game. It seems that battle symphony is not the issue. So I just uploaded the data folder. So if any one could help please copy just the scripts, and items from my data folder to a new project, Download Mogs demo, and select 18-Miria among the demos in the folder and use his graphics from that one.

EDIT:
The error seems to only happen when I add custom skill types.

Sorry for double posting. Just want to let everyone  know I just found out this only seems to happen when there is a custom skill type added to actor one, and only happens if actor one tries to use an item on himself. I updated the first post with the error in process.

Rose Guardian, please avoid double posting, as it is against the forum rules. You can review our forum rules here. Thank you.

If you have something to add and the last post is your own, simply edit that last post.

Back to topic:

Your new screenhots show that the HUD is a modified battle command menu that assigns grafical buttons to the default commands - including two buttons for the two default skill types.

If you add another skill type, the button for that skill type is missing and might shift the indices of the other command buttons, forcing the last command (item) out of index.

I suggest you look into the script description on how to define new skill buttons inside that HUD - Moghunter usually provides for those standard options, so there should be some comments or descriptions about that problem.

I have not solved this yet but I went, and grabbed a different battle command script from another demo in the hud demos, and it works now. Anyway I couldn't figure out even if I disabled everything but that so I just added the battle command ex from a different demo, and sat it up like this one. However I would like to keep this post open in case someone knows how to solve the problem. Thank you for your help.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
