Hey everyone,

I've been using RPG Maker VX Ace for a few weeks now, and well, being as dumb as I am, I for the life of me cannot figure out how to get an Actor to join my active party. I followed this guide:

Code:
http://rpgmaker.assets.s3-ap-northeast-1.amazonaws.com/files/RPGVX_Tutorial_Level_8.pdf
But the Actor will not show up in playtest, even though the graphic is clearly shown on my map during creation.

This is my script so far...

I feel like a complete noob not being able to figure something like this out. Please help me.

I think u should uncheck the "switch" and "actor exist" in the first event page :D When u place the command "control switch**on" then u check that switch on the next event page or another event which u want to happen after that event..

The conditions you have set for that event page require Doove to be in the party already and the switch to be turned on. Try un-checking the conditions on the left side. :)

Thank you! It worked, but now I can't get him to go away on the main map after I have him in my party...

Click "New Page" and check "Doole is in party". Leave everything else (including the graphic) blank.

If he's permanently joining the party, you can also use a self-switch. Turn self-switch A on at the end of the page after Doole joins. The new page should have "Self-switch A is On" checked. :)

You can get him to disappear by setting a new blank event page within his event: set the "conditions" to use either a new switch/self-switch or the "Doove exists" condition that you previously had.

edit: nath'd :(

Thank you so much for all your help! One last question... the party limit is three, but is there a way to interchange characters? Like in Final Fantasy 7?

iirc this is already a part of the default menu in ace. you can scroll down past the first few actors. by default, the option in menu says "formation"

Back in action to develop the indie game that has been long overdue... Final Fallacy. A game that keeps on giving! The development never ends as the developer thinks to be the smart cookie by coming back and beginning by saying... "Oh bother, this indie game has been long overdue..." How could one resist such? So I was playing with filters and this looked interesting...

Versus the normal look...

Kind of gives a very different feel. :LZSexcite:
